Volvo Adventure Youth Environmental Award

Groups must be made up of between two and five young people (between ages 10 to 16) and must be represented by an adult.

An opportunity to:

Win an all expenses paid trip to attend the Volvo Adventure Conference in Sweden in May 2006.

Present their project and practical action to a jury of international experts.

Win a $10,000, $6,000 or $3,000 prize to fund their environmental project.

Show their project to the world by publishing it on the Volvo Adventure website.

Contribute to a handbook of practical action for use by their peers and UNEP.

The Volvo Adventure International competition
is an environmental award that rewards environmental action taken by young people. The program is intended to give young people the
chance to gain international recognition for their local environmental projects and to help support environmental education in schools and the local community. Volvo Adventure is supported by the United Nations Environment Program.

The program is open to young people around the world between 10 and 16 years of age who working with schools and youth and community groups. Groups of young people who enter a project to Volvo Adventure are eligible to win an all expenses-paid trip to attend the Volvo Adven-
ture Conference in Sweden, where they will present their project and practical action to a jury of international experts. Groups selected by the jury will be awarded prizes of $10,000, $6,000, or $4,000 to fund their projects.

Projects previously entered for the award can be resubmitted provided they show significant and demonstrable progress.
