Another fine mess the Anti-choice Democrats have made for women...

Navy wins appeal in abortion case Woman must pay, even though fetus was nonviable, because her life wasn't in danger
A Navy man's wife who had an abortion after her fetus was diagnosed as brain-damaged with no hope of survival, must repay the government $3,000 because federal law bars funding of such abortions in the military, a federal appeals court ruled Thursday.
The law, which pays for abortions only if the woman's life would be endangered by childbirth, does not violate the constitutional rights of military personnel or their spouses, said the Ninth U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in San Francisco. The 3-0 ruling was sympathetic in its tone but certain in its conclusion.

i read this earlier today when i got up and ive been FUMING about it all day long. this is exactly why male politicians shouldn't be allowed to step between a doctor and a patient where birth is concerned.
THIS IS FUCKING OUTRAGEOUS!
and if the story alone isnt bad enough i follow the next link over to the democrats for life site and i see them crowing proudly about how they put a stop to an amendment that would have permitted this woman to have her treatment paid. now read that again closely.
The current policy on abortions for military personnel and dependents is as follows:
* Direct funding for abortions:
Banned, except for life of the mother situations (enacted as part of U.S. Code in 1984).
* Use of military facilities for abortions (paid for with private funds):
Banned, except for life of the mother, rape and incest situations (enacted as part of the U.S. Code in 1996) (This ban was also in place by DOD administrative directive from 1988-Jan. 1993.)
Some members have made attempts in recent years to attach pro-abortion amendments (such as the Davis Amendment) to defense and military appropriations bills.
Thanks to the help of pro-life Democrats, these attempts have been unsuccessful!
Democrats that opposed the Davis Amendment to HR 1815 that would lift the ban on abortions in military facilities

If you put a bunch of hightly competative little boys on a playground by themselves, chances are they will play some version of 'King of the Hill." Only the strongest get near the top, and the closer they get to it, the more determined are to win, and to hell with everything else, like stepping on other little kids heads to do so.
As long as comptetative males are the sole "rulers", as long as all that counts is "winning"...this is the game that will be played out, in one form or another, endlessly and at whatever cost...to any of the rest of us. End of story.
(Oh HEY... look over there..at what the little girls are doing...they're PLAYING.... TOGETHER..and creating things.)
